The Nederland Club is diversified by classification from individual business owners to 
 corporate executives as well as many professionals in both business and government. The 
 Club sponsors an annual Career Day for all Nederland Independent School District eighth 
 graders. With the assistance of school counselors and Lamar University, this program 
 has been a great success. It gives these students a chance to get first hand information 
 on over one hundred vocations before they make a decision on their four-year high school 
 plan of courses. From our fund raising projects we are able to present three scholarships 
 annually to graduating seniors from Nederland for a total of $6,500 per year. One is a 
 vocational scholarship and the other two are academic scholarships.
